Making the switch

Changing your strata manager might seem like a hassle, but it’s smoother than you’d expect.

In a nutshell:

If you're on the Strata Committee

If you’re on a strata committee and have concerns about your current strata manager, start by discussing them with your fellow committee members. If there’s general agreement, arrange a meeting to formally raise the issue and propose a change of manager as soon as possible.

If you're not on the Strata Committee

No worries! You can still make your voice heard. We encourage you to first reach out to your strata committee to express your concerns. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, have an open dialogue with your strata manager. If no common ground or improvement is reached, we can provide a fee proposal to a member of your strata committee with the relevant motions to advocate a change of strata manager, which would be tabled at a general meeting of the owners corporation.

At all levels, we advocate being transparent with the existing managing agent. We won’t be part of blindsiding them. We encourage owners and the owners corporation to have honest conversations with the existing managing agent throughout.

The easiest way to switch is when your Strata Committee agrees that it’s time for a change. If you need advice or a proposal, we’re here to help.
